Vivia’s research model for each disease or indication to be investigated consists of several steps. First, a standard biological sample (blood, bone marrow) is taken from a sufficiently representative number of patients. Then, using the ExviTech technological platform, we analyze the effect of 2,500 drugs and combinations in each of these samples while still in a fresh condition (24/48 hours from extraction). The purpose of these analyses is to search for new therapeutical applications of these drugs for the disease being studied.
The result of these analyses will be the identification of existing drugs or combinations of drugs that have therapeutical efficacy against the disease and, therefore, are candidates to become new treatments for this disease.
To this end, we use ExviTech, a pioneering platform technology that transforms existing flow cytometry technology into a high-throughput/content screening platform (HTS/HCS). In addition, our team in Spain benefits from the talent of the people who developed the platform in US in the past six years.
