Vivia's main differentiating factor is its capacity to analyze the effect of thousands of drugs and its combinations on a patient's standard biologic sample (for example, blood) while it is still fresh (24/48 hours after extraction).
By comparison, in the same sample and within the same period, current technology allows for the systematic and routine analysis of between 10-100 drugs per sample. This differentiating capacity allows Vivia to leave behind the traditional research in transformed cells and animals used by our competitors, to work as closely as possible to the reality of the human body, in the biological system in which the diseases operate.
The analysis carried out by Vivia with the ExviTech platform (”Ex-vivo Technologies”) is traditionally referred to as “in-vitro” (outside the body), as opposed to giving the drug directly to an individual (“in-vivo”). For this reason, the technique used by Vivia directly on freshly extracted samples, with the minimum possible alteration, is termed by us “ex-vivo” an innovative and translational research process to obtain new treatments to fight the disease in the most effective way.
