Joan Ballesteros is a bachelor in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and a doctor in Biomedicine from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the University of New York, USA.

Joan Ballesteros is a bachelor in Chemical Sciences from the University of Barcelona and a doctor in Biomedicine from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine of the University of New York, USA. He has published more than 40 articles in journals of international prestige and is known worldwide for his work in pharmacology, applications of flow cytometry in the evaluation of drugs and computational models of drug activity.
Joan is a Founding Partner and Chief Scientific Officer of the company Novasite Pharmaceuticals in San Diego, California, a company that developed the basis of the ExviTech technological platform under his leadership and management.
Joan headed Novasite for more than five years, and obtained more than $14M in NIH grants and more than $20M in total funding.

Andrés Ballesteros

Spanish and American lawyer, he is a member of the New York Bar Association and MBA by Instituto de Empresa Business School. Ballesteros is founding partner and Vivia Biotech’s CEO, and a member of the Board of Directors at ASEBIO, the Spanish Association of Biotechnology Companies.
Andrés worked as finance and corporate lawyer in New York at Hunton & Williams LLP, and was the firm’s representative before the Spanish Chamber of Commerce. Previously Andres was part of the Legal Department and of the Latin-American Structured Finance Group at Bank Santander in New York. Andrés is an International MBA from Instituto de Empresa (Madrid), and Master (LLM) in Bank, Corporate and Financial Law BY Fordham University School of Law, New York.

Joaquin Martinez, MD PhD
Medical Director
Graduated in Medicine in 1991 from the University of Granada (Spain), Joaquin is a specialist in Hematology and PhD with honors from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) in 2002. Joaquín is Head of the Hematology Department at the University Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, sharing clinical and research tasks. His clinical work takes place mainly in the areas of multiple myeloma and myeloproliferative neoplasms, a field in which is an internationally recognized expert. He is also the head of the laboratory of molecular biology that is national and international benchmark. Joaquin leads the group of translational research and early clinical trials unit in hematology at the Hospital 12 de Octubre. Joaquín is in multiple research projects and clinical trials of national and international agencies, which resulted into 83 articles in international journals and more than 40 book chapters, as well as interventions in national and international conferences.
Joaquin is Vivia Biotech Medical Director since January 2013, constituting ever since a key piece of our team for the successful development of personalized medicine tests for the treatment of Hematological Malignancies.
His interest in the disadvantaged has led him to participate in several cooperation projects, including the development of a laboratory in Northern Ghana. Currently Joaquin plays a relevant role as Scientific Director of the CRIS Foundation Against Cancer.

Pilar is a professional scientist with more than fifteen years of experience in flow cytometry. Pilar is responsible for leading the laboratory and scientific activities of the company, from profiling and biomarker discovery programs, to product development of our personalized medicine tests.

Julian has a dual background, both in scientific and technical areas: graduated in Biological Sciences.
Julián Gorrochategui
VP Bioinformatic and Information Technologies
Julian has a dual background, both in scientific and technical areas: graduated in Biological Sciences, he followed training courses and got expertise in bioinformatics, data analysis, laboratory instrumentation and information technologies.
He has a wide experience in pharmaceutical research, having worked for more than 15 years at the Basic Research Center of Merck & Co. in Madrid. He joined Vivia Biotech in 2008 being since then the responsible of Information technologies and Bioinformatics department.

Sergio Perez has a degree in business administration from the University of Alcalá de Henares and a Master in Financial Management from ESADE.

Sergio Perez has a degree in business administration from the University of Alcalá de Henares and a Master in Financial Management from ESADE.
Sergio has over eight years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry having worked for, among others, the generics pharmaceuticals group Chemo and Cellerix biotech company. At Vivia he currently holds the position of CFO.
Of North American nationality, she obtained her degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of New México, in Albuquerque, USA in a renowned group for flow cytometry automation.
